“We are flying kites!”

In conjunction with Elks Youth Appreciation Week, Christian County Elks #2777 hosted their annual Kite Day for members, guests and the community on Saturday May 8th. This year we lucked out with mild rain in the morning and clearing to gusty afternoon, perfect for flying kites. Everyone started the day with indoor games of Corn Hole and basketball. Ozark Fire Department was nice enough to send over a firetruck accompanied by fireman Dave Hubbard and Elaezar Soto. Everyone had lunch of hamburgers and hotdogs, grilled-up by the Scouts. Part of the mission of Christian County Elks during Youth Appreciation Week is to make donations to our community organizations that support children. Christian County Elks donated $2500 ($500 each) to following Christian County organizations: Boy Scouts Troop 709, Jason Factor accepting, Ozark Sheriff DARE Program, Officer Bill Whitaker accepting, Cub Scouts, Felicia Sweet accepting, Girl Scouts and Brownies, Ticia Kraus accepting and Least of These, Michelle Teter accepting.
