The Elks tradition of Flag Day was performed on Saturday June 15th at Christian County Elks #2777. Over fifty members and guests, including veterans from the Mount Vernon Veterans facility, watched Scout Troop 201 present the flag history with eight versions of the American flag and the officers perform the Elks ritual of Flag Day and its history. Following lunch everyone made their way outside to the firepit to watch the Scouts perform the time-honored burning for Flag Retirement. Scout leader and Elks Trustee, Jason Factor, led the Scouts in the flag retirement proceedings. Thank you all for attending.
