Southwest Missouri Elks held their annual National Hoop Shoot Competition at the District level this past Saturday at the Springfield Catholic High School gym. 20 eager boys and girls put their best-shots on the line and competed for first and second place trophies and a chance to move onto the State Hoop Shoot Competition February 8 in St. Louis. The goal, to make as many free throws as you can in 25 attempts. Getting started, District Deputy Grand Exalted Ruler, Jeff Holt (Christian County Elks 2777) explained the rules and regulations to all the competitors and most of all he told them to “have fun!”. Thank you to all the families and friends that attended to watch these fine young citizens compete and to all the Elks that helped at sign-up, with scoring and court observations.
