Chili Cook-Off Benefits Benevolent Trust

Are you hungry for some fantastic chili! The Southwest Missouri District Elks held its annual Chili Cook-Off on January 11 at the Springfield Elks #409 with all donations going to the Benevolent Trust. When the tally was completed, we are proud to announce that $2,097 will be donated to the Benevolent Trust. Christian County Elks 2777 was one of 13 teams participating along with teams from Springfield Elks, Webb City Elks and West Plains Elks. Even though the weather was challenging, many members and guests trekked to the Springfield Lodge to watch each team prepare their best-tasting grub they could muster and satisfy their chili taste buds. SW Missouri District Deputy Grand Exalted Ruler, Jeff Holt (CC Elks) and CC Elks Trustee, Ernie Smith, teamed up to beat the competition. When the judging was final, the winning teams were all from Springfield Elks. Congrats! Thank you to the Springfield Elks 409 for hosting the District Chili Cook-Off and everyone who supported and competed in this important event.
