Vets Benefit Golf Tourney

For the second year in a row, under crystal clear blues sky and 75 degrees, the Christian County Elks 2777 of Ozark MO held the 4th Annual Veterans Benefit Golf Tournament at Deer Lake Golf Course in Springfield Saturday September 19. Event organizer and CC Elks Lodge Trustee, Charles Falzone, started the event with a rousing WELCOME to all golfers followed by BS Troop 201 presenting the American flag, Pledge of Allegiance, and prayer.

Shotgun start with 19 teams of foursomes hitting the course at 9am for best-ball scramble. The tournament raised over $3000 for future Veterans Projects such as Thanksgiving dinner for vets, holiday baskets for less fortunate veteran families and other Christian County veteran projects. Many thanks to the Elks volunteers who made our event run smoothly: Mary Angel, Claudette Coley, Lodge Tiler  Jane Jackson, Marty Shelton, Lodge Secretary Tom Shelton PSP, Lodge Esquire Jan Bruenger PER, Dawna Southern, Lodge Inner Guard Rita Ege, Michael Egan, Rex Krasche, Loyal Knight Doug Hickman, Lodge Trustee Charley Hopkins PER and Lodge photographer and Exalted Ruler Mike Klinger PER.
