Elks Back to School Shopping

For the 8th year in a row, the Christian County Elks #2777 invited children to “Elks Back to School Shopping” spree at Walmart Ozark and Nixa, supported by Least of These, Inc, Christian County Food Pantry. By the fourth and final Saturday in July, over 250 kids will have a new wardrobe ready for the new school year. Each child had the opportunity to wonder the store and pick out exactly what they wanted in shoes and clothes totaling up to $100 with Elks assisting them while shopping. The funds used for Elks Back to School Shopping are obtained by Grand Lodge Grants, fundraising, member and community business partners donations. At the end of the day, everyone left the shopping spree with smiles on their faces, the kids, their parents and the Elks.

UPDATE August 1, 2019: When the Christian County Elks completed the fourth Saturday in July, 253 children were able to shop for clothes and shoes for the upcoming school year. The Elks were right on target with the budget of $25,000 supporting the children and the communities of Ozark and Nixa. Job well done by all giving back!
