Christian County Elks Raise Over $10,000 for Veterans at Annual Golf Tournament
The Christian County Elks Lodge hosted its 8th Annual Veterans Benefit Golf Tournament Sept 19 at the Springfield Golf and Country Club, and it was a tremendous success! With 63 players hitting the greens, the day was filled with camaraderie, competition, and generosity.
Thanks to entry fees, the Dice Game, 50/50 Drawing, Mulligans, and a lively Raffle, the tournament generated over $10,000. After expenses, the net proceeds of $5,500 will go directly to supporting our Veterans projects through the remainder of the year.
Supporting Veterans in Our Community
This funding will help bring holiday cheer and support to Veterans in need. Upcoming initiatives include:
- Veterans Thanksgiving Dinner – On November 19, the Christian County Elks will host a special Thanksgiving meal for Veterans in our community, as well as those living in the Veterans Homes in Mt. Vernon and Ozark.
- Annual Veterans Food Drive – Beginning October 1, the Lodge will collect non-perishable food donations. Our Ozark partners at Least of These help identify 30–40 Veterans families who need assistance during the holiday season. In mid-December, Elks will deliver 4–5 boxes of food to each family, ensuring no Veteran household goes without a holiday meal.
A Grateful Thank You
Events like this are only possible because of the support of our community and sponsors. A special thanks goes out to our title sponsors, David and Maria Frana of Health Markets, and to all the Elks who volunteered their time and effort to make this year’s tournament a success.
Together, we are making a difference. We cannot do it without YOU!
